Cell vs. Son Goku

Goku Enters the Ring

With Mr. Satan sprawled unconscious outside the arena, Goku walks calmly into the Cell Games ring to face Perfect Cell. The Z Fighters watch from the sidelines, tense and uncertain. Cell and Goku crack their knuckles and lock eyes, each measuring the other. Cell remarks that he had hoped to save the best challenger for last but has no choice in the matter. Future Trunks thinks to himself that they will finally see why Goku remained so composed during the days leading up to the tournament.

Meanwhile, reporter Jimmy Firecracker reassures the television audience that Mr. Satan simply lost his footing and will return shortly. He dismisses Goku as an amateur, and Mr. Satan confidently predicts the newcomer will last no more than five seconds against Cell. The two commentators share a laugh, treating Goku as a joke.

The First Exchange

Goku and Cell assume their fighting stances and charge. Goku opens with a kick followed by a punch, both of which Cell blocks cleanly. Cell counters with a left hook, but Goku ducks beneath it. The two trade a rapid flurry of strikes before Goku backflips away to create distance. Cell rockets forward with a headbutt, and Goku crosses his arms to absorb the impact. Goku then drops onto his back and launches Cell skyward with a powerful kick, shooting up after him immediately.

Warm-Up Complete

Ascending toward Cell, Goku fires a Kamehameha in midair. Cell swats the blast aside with little effort. Goku vanishes and reappears behind Cell, landing a solid punch to his back. An enraged Cell retaliates with a punch to Goku's face and then hammers him downward. Goku recovers and lands inside the arena on his feet. Cell descends after him. Goku stands, smirks, and Cell announces that the warm-up is over. On the sidelines, Mr. Satan and Jimmy Firecracker stare at the arena with their jaws hanging open, unable to comprehend the speed and power on display.
