The Super Kamehameha Gambit

Mr. Satan and Jimmy Firecracker stare at the battle in open-mouthed astonishment. The reporter asks his cameraman whether he captured any of the action, but the cameraman confesses the fighters move far too fast for the equipment. When pressed for his expert opinion, Mr. Satan manages an awkward grin and mutters that the two combatants are not as bad as he expected.

Cell smirks and begins charging a Super Kamehameha, aiming the massive energy wave directly at Goku. Goku pleads with Cell to stop, warning that an attack of that magnitude will destroy the entire planet. Cell ignores the warning and continues building power. Goku leaps skyward to draw the blast away from the ground, and Cell tracks his movement, firing the colossal beam straight at him.

Instant Transmission

As the beam rockets toward him, Goku vanishes using Instant Transmission. He reappears directly behind Cell and delivers a crushing kick to the back of Cell's skull. Cell manages to recover with a backflip and stares at Goku in genuine surprise. He demands to know how Goku dodged the attack, recalling that he noticed a similar disappearing act earlier. Goku calmly reveals the technique's name, and Cell dismisses it as a nuisance.

Goku asks whether Cell would have fired the Kamehameha even if he had stayed on the ground. Cell admits that he knew Goku would jump, since a true protector of Earth would never risk planetary destruction just to land a single blow. Goku praises Cell's tactical thinking. Cell, however, reminds Goku that he could wipe out the planet on a whim if he chose to; the only thing stopping him is his desire for more entertainment.

Cell Takes the Offensive

Shifting into a new stance, Cell lunges forward and slams a brutal elbow into Goku. Goku attempts to counter, but Cell evades the strike and drives a second elbow into Goku, smashing him into the ground. Goku springs back to his feet, only for Cell to swat him down again. As Goku rolls upright once more, Cell appears behind him and taunts his speed, noting that Goku is impressively fast even without relying on Instant Transmission.
