Ring Out

Manga ChapterCh. 398

Cell eliminates the possibility of a ring-out victory by obliterating the entire arena with a massive blast. With the ring destroyed, the whole Earth becomes their battlefield. As Goku begins charging a full-power Kamehameha from high in the sky, Cell is forced to confront the terrifying possibility that Goku might actually fire it.

Aerial Clash

Cell delivers several hard punches to Goku's face and follows with a left hook, but Goku sways backward to dodge and retaliates with a kick that sends Cell soaring upward. Goku flips and rockets after Cell, striking at him in midair but missing. Cell materializes behind Goku and swings, but Goku evades by a hair's breadth. The two hover in the sky, trading positions at blinding speed. Down below, Mr. Satan and Jimmy Firecracker squint upward, completely lost. Krillin marvels at how fast both fighters are moving.

Cell remarks that he did not expect the fight to be this entertaining and would hate for it to end due to something as mundane as a ring out. He announces that ring-out losses are no longer part of the rules. Goku immediately shouts a warning to everyone on the ground to get away from the arena.

The Arena Destroyed

Cell aims both hands downward and unleashes a devastating blast. A colossal explosion engulfs the ring, and when the smoke clears, nothing remains but an enormous crater. Everyone reaches safety in time; Android 16 shields Mr. Satan and the broadcast crew from the shockwave. Sixteen tells them to leave because they are only getting in the way, but Jimmy refuses, insisting that Mr. Satan will challenge Cell next. Satan nervously agrees, though he suggests they watch from a greater distance.

Goku and Cell both land on the bare ground. Cell declares that the entire Earth is now their ring, and that the match will end only when one of them surrenders or dies. Goku accepts the terms without hesitation.

A Dangerous Gamble

Cell charges at Goku and opens fire with a barrage of ki blasts. Goku weaves and dodges through the storm of energy before taking to the sky. High above the battlefield, Goku begins gathering energy for a Kamehameha. Cell calls the bluff, certain that Goku would never launch such a powerful attack from that altitude, knowing full well that the blast could obliterate the planet. Yet Goku continues charging, his aura swelling with power. As the attack nears completion, genuine alarm crosses Cell's face. He begins to realize that Goku may actually intend to fire it.
