Road to the Finals

The Junior Division continues at a brisk pace. Goten faces Ikose, the older brother of the boy Trunks defeated earlier, and drops him with a single punch. Both half-Saiyans cut through the remaining bracket without any real resistance, making it clear that no ordinary child can compete with them.

While the younger fighters dominate inside, Gohan and Videl remain stuck in line outside, still waiting for the repaired Punch Machine. By the time the championship round is announced, the machine is finally operational, but the two have no choice except to keep waiting.

The Championship Begins

Seven-year-old Goten and eight-year-old Trunks step onto the main stage for the Junior Division final. Members of the crowd pick sides, and the announcer reminds everyone that the winner will face Mr. Satan in an exhibition match. The two boys bow to each other and exchange a few words of friendly rivalry before the fight gets underway.

Mr. Satan watches from backstage and immediately notices that Goten bears a striking resemblance to the mysterious fighter from the Cell Games. The thought makes him visibly uneasy.

A Fight Beyond Their Age

From the opening exchange, both boys move at speeds the audience can barely follow. Their striking and defensive abilities far surpass what anyone expects from children, and several spectators remark that these two seem stronger than most of the adult competitors. Gohan and Videl finally arrive in time to see the action firsthand.

Goten and Trunks trade blows on even footing, neither gaining a decisive edge. Goten surprises everyone by improvising a new attack on the spot, a rushing combination he calls Assault. The crowd watches in stunned silence, unable to process what two kids under ten are capable of doing on this stage.
