The Terrible Mystery

Manga ChapterCh. 441

The Supreme Kai reveals the full history of Majin Buu to the Z Fighters as they pursue Yamu and Spopovich across the sky. Now Bibidi's equally wicked son, the warlock Babidi, threatens to undo everything and resurrect the terror.

Departure from the Tournament

Yamu gloats as the pair flies away with Gohan's stolen energy, certain the power will be enough to revive Majin Buu. The Supreme Kai trails them from a safe distance. Back at the tournament, Krillin tells Goku he wants to come along. Vegeta confronts Goku furiously, demanding their promised one-on-one fight. Settling their rivalry is the sole reason he entered the tournament. Goku tells him they can fight afterward and suggests he join in case things turn dangerous. Piccolo takes off first, followed by Goku and a reluctant Vegeta. Android 18 stays behind to collect the prize money.

Videl rushes to Gohan's side as Kibito orders the doctors away. He places his hand on Gohan's chest and channels healing energy, marveling at the depth of power within the boy. Goten and Trunks watch from a rooftop, confused by why everyone flew off. Once Gohan is fully restored, Kibito tells him to follow. Videl insists on coming, and Gohan agrees on the condition she flee if things become dangerous.

The Legend of Majin Buu

High above the countryside, the group catches up with the Supreme Kai. He explains that long ago, a deeply evil sorcerer named Bibidi created an uncontrollable monster called Majin Buu. Possessing no reason or emotion, Buu annihilated hundreds of planets in a matter of years. Five Supreme Kais stood against him, each powerful enough to defeat Frieza, and four were killed. Bibidi could only direct Buu by temporarily sealing him between rampages. He brought the sealed Buu to Earth as his next target, but the surviving Supreme Kai killed Bibidi before the seal could be broken. The ball has remained undisturbed ever since. Now, however, the Supreme Kai has learned something terrible: Bibidi had a son with an equally wicked heart. His name is Babidi.
