The pursuit of Spopovich and Yamu continues as the Supreme Kai and Kibito explain Babidi's plan to resurrect Majin Buu. Videl falls behind and turns back, but not before Gohan confirms every secret she has suspected about him and the Cell Games. The group locates Babidi's underground ship and takes position on a nearby hill, suppressing their ki to avoid detection.
As the group soars in pursuit of Spopovich and Yamu, the Supreme Kai explains that the only way to prevent Majin Buu's revival is to stop Babidi before he breaks the ancient seal. Further back, Kibito admits to Gohan and Videl that they knew the attack would happen. They allowed it deliberately so they could follow the agents to Buu's sealed location. Goku asks why the sealed Buu was left in place for so long. The Supreme Kai responds that disturbing the containment risked breaking it accidentally, which would have been catastrophic.
Kibito urges everyone to increase speed, but Videl cannot keep up. Gohan tells her to turn back, warning the danger ahead is far worse than anything at the tournament. Before she leaves, Videl asks if Gohan is the Gold Fighter. He confirms it. She asks if he was the child at the Cell Games, and he confirms that as well, apologizing for keeping it hidden. Videl realizes Gohan, not her father, truly defeated Cell. She tells him she is glad to know the truth, wishes him luck, and says to give Babidi what he deserves. As Gohan and Kibito accelerate away, Videl quietly tells him that when he returns, she plans to ask him on a date.
The group reunites just as the Supreme Kai spots their targets descending. Everyone lands on a hillside and suppresses their ki. They watch Spopovich and Yamu meet someone below and realize Babidi has concealed his spaceship underground. Piccolo suggests striking before the enemy can resurrect Buu, but the Supreme Kai counsels patience. Gohan glances aside and discovers the bodies of a slaughtered family, fueling his anger. Then Piccolo spots a figure emerging from the buried ship.
