Goku Meets Boo!

Calibrating the Fusion

Goku orders the boys to power up to their full Super Saiyan levels. The energy staggers Piccolo, but Goku is unfazed. He notes that Trunks has slightly higher ki than Goten and explains that Fusion requires identical power output. Trunks must suppress his energy to match Goten and memorize that level. The boys revert, with Trunks grumbling about holding back. Goku says they should practice peaking their ki in base form first, since fusing as Super Saiyans is far harder.

The Dragon Radar Crisis

Babidi broadcasts another threat, revealing that he knows where Trunks lives and will destroy the location. Trunks panics because his grandparents are still there. Bulma confronts Goku, but he assures her the Dragon Balls can fix everything. Piccolo points out only one wish remains. Bulma raises a worse problem: if Capsule Corporation is destroyed, the Dragon Radar, built from irreplaceable components, is lost forever, making it impossible to summon Shenron. Goku decides to stall Buu personally while Trunks races home for the Radar. He vanishes via Instant Transmission; Trunks takes off at full speed.

Face to Face with Majin Buu

Goku materializes before Babidi and Buu mid-flight. Babidi is shocked Vegeta failed to kill him and thanks Goku, since the energy from their fight helped revive Buu. Goku admits they underestimated Buu's power. He offers advice: stop destroying and wait, because three fighters are training to challenge Buu soon. Babidi and Buu laugh at the idea. Goku announces he will oppose them for now.

Babidi mocks him, predicting death like Vegeta's. Buu stretches lazily until Babidi screams at him to attack. Goku wonders why Buu obeys someone weaker. When Babidi threatens the sealing spell, Buu coolly points out that without him, Goku would just kill Babidi. The wizard is rattled that Buu has started thinking for himself. Buu declares he will fight anyway. Goku transforms to Super Saiyan 2, and Trunks senses from afar that the power matches his father's level. Babidi dismisses it as the same trick. Goku grins and says he plans to go beyond even that.
