Goku teaches Trunks and Goten the Fusion Dance poses, enlisting an embarrassed Piccolo as his mirror partner for the demonstration. Meanwhile, Buu constructs a bizarre house out of a village he has converted into clay and takes a nap before resuming his rampage. With his time on Earth expired, Goku shares a tender farewell with his family and friends before departing with Fortuneteller Baba.
Goku demonstrates the Fusion poses, and the room falls silent. Trunks declares they look incredibly lame. Goku explains that both partners must move with perfect left-right symmetry, but the boys do not understand the term. He recruits a deeply reluctant Piccolo as his mirror partner, and the two adults perform the mirrored steps until their fingertips touch. The boys take their turn. Piccolo mutters that even Vegeta would never have agreed to something so undignified.
Buu grows drowsy while flying and lands in a small village to sleep. The screaming villagers annoy him, so he lifts every living thing into the air and converts them all into clay. After flattening the surrounding landscape, he molds the clay into a bizarre beehive-shaped structure and crawls inside. He gives himself a tour: dining table, bathtub, toilet, and bed, all packed into a single room. After eating, bathing, and resting, Buu wakes refreshed and heads out to resume killing.
Goku and Piccolo continue drilling the boys until Fortuneteller Baba arrives and says time is up. Goku tells Piccolo everything rests on him now and predicts the boys should master Fusion by tomorrow. Everyone gathers to say goodbye. Goku tells Chi-Chi not to be sad, reminding her she still has Goten. She worries Goten might be killed, but Goku insists the technique will protect him. He promises to pass along regards to Gohan in the Other World. Videl insists she believes Gohan is still alive. Krillin is skeptical, since nobody can sense his ki, but Goku thinks she may be right.
Baba urges him to hurry. Goten stands silently before his father, struggling with his emotions. Goku scoops him up, holds him tight, and tells him to look after his mother. Flying off on Baba's crystal ball, Goku shouts back that they should all meet up again when they are dead. He vanishes, and Krillin smiles, calling him a jerk.
