Satan Steps Up

The sniper's accomplice wonders why Mr. Satan would be standing alongside Majin Buu, but the sniper dismisses the question and says killing Satan will make them the new heroes. Satan spots the pair on a nearby cliff just as the sniper fires a rocket launcher directly at the house. Satan dives clear of the blast, and the two gunmen celebrate what they assume is a kill. When the smoke clears, Buu stands in the rubble completely unharmed, his expression twisted with fury.

The sniper scrambles to reload, but before he can fire, his accomplice is knocked unconscious. Mr. Satan, furious himself, charges the sniper and delivers a vicious beating. With both attackers dealt with, Buu's anger subsides. Satan hurries back toward the ruined house and discovers that the puppy is still breathing. Buu rushes over and pours his healing energy into the animal. The two of them leap with joy once the puppy opens its eyes.

The Breaking Point

High above on the Lookout, Dende and Piccolo have been watching events unfold. Piccolo is baffled that Mr. Satan appears to be living peacefully with Buu. Dende expresses cautious hope that a fight may not even be necessary, but Piccolo warns that Buu remains fundamentally dangerous. His concern proves well-founded almost immediately.

The sniper, who was only stunned by Satan's blows, staggers to his feet. He draws a concealed handgun from his back pocket, shoots Mr. Satan in the torso, and sprints away. Buu's reaction is volcanic. Steam erupts from every pore on his body as rage overwhelms him. He gently sets the puppy on the ground and heals Satan's gunshot wound. Satan thanks him, but Buu's voice comes out strained and trembling. He tells Satan to take the puppy and run far away, or both of them will die. Satan does not understand, but Buu screams at him to hurry. As Satan flees with the dog in his arms, the steam pouring from Buu coalesces into a massive cloud overhead. Everyone watching feels a deep sense of dread as the cloud begins to take a distinct shape.
