Escape From the Time Dimension

Buu Escapes

Buu stares at the dimensional hole he tore open, just as shocked as Gotenks and Piccolo. Piccolo realizes that sheer ki output alone was enough to crack the barrier between dimensions. The rift begins shrinking rapidly, and Buu oozes his elastic body through the tiny gap just before it vanishes. Gotenks and Piccolo are left stranded.

On the Sacred World of the Kai, Goku senses Buu's ki reappear outside the chamber, but the boys have not followed. Old Kai materializes a crystal ball and tosses it to Goku so he can watch events unfold. Through the ball, Goku sees Buu reform on the Lookout. Everyone on the platform is stunned to see him back. Buu surveys the group, mentions he is hungry, and fires his Chocolate Beam, transforming every last person into candy and devouring them. Goku watches in horror but tells a frantic Gohan to keep concentrating on the ritual.

Super Saiyan 3

Inside the chamber, Gotenks and Piccolo try screaming the way Buu did, hoping to force open a rift. Nothing happens. Piccolo despairs, assuming everyone outside must already be dead after all the time they have wasted. Gotenks reluctantly admits he will have to use a power he has been holding back. Piccolo asks what he means, and Gotenks grins.

Gotenks begins powering up, his aura expanding violently until he reaches Super Saiyan 3. His hair extends down past his waist and his brow ridge sharpens. Piccolo demands to know how this is possible, but Gotenks has no real answer. He notes that while he feels incredibly strong, his face now looks villainous. He cuts the banter short, screams with everything he has, and tears open a dimensional portal of his own.

Return to the Lookout

Gotenks and Piccolo leap through the rift. They find Buu standing on the battered Lookout, licking his lips. Buu notices the change in Gotenks' appearance. Goku, watching through the crystal ball, is stunned that the boys achieved Super Saiyan 3 so quickly. Piccolo sees the destruction and asks where everyone went. Buu pats his belly and says they are inside him. Gotenks seethes with rage and launches himself at Buu.
