Buu laughs, pointing out that Goku has no viable fusion partner. Goku eyes Mr. Satan, who is hiding behind a boulder telling Dende he is out of bullets. Buu offers Goku five seconds to pick someone. Goku calculates that fusing with Satan, whose power sits around 1,000, would yield a combined total of roughly 1,001. That is not just insufficient; it might make him weaker. Time runs out, and Goku yells at Mr. Satan to get ready. He cocks his arm to throw the Potara.

Vegeta Returns

At that instant, Goku senses a powerful, unmistakable ki. Fortuneteller Baba transported Vegeta to Earth but will not go closer. Buu lunges at Goku, who vanishes with Instant Transmission a heartbeat before the punch lands. He reappears in front of Vegeta, overjoyed. Buu, furious, declares he will track Goku anywhere and rockets off in pursuit, leaving Satan and Dende in a dust cloud. Dende follows, and Satan begs to come along.

Pride vs. Survival

Goku tells Baba to leave immediately. She flies off. He holds out the Potara and asks Vegeta to put it on his right ear. Vegeta demands to know why. Goku explains the fusion will produce a warrior strong enough to beat Buu. Vegeta resists, confronting Goku about hiding Super Saiyan 3 during their earlier fight. Goku admits the form had a strict time limit. Growing desperate, he tells Vegeta that Buu killed Bulma and absorbed Piccolo, Gohan, Goten, and Trunks. Vegeta's expression hardens.

The Birth of Vegito

Buu closes in. Vegeta asks for the earring. Goku tosses it, and Vegeta begins fitting it onto his ear. Buu spots them and charges an energy attack. Just as the earring clicks into place, Goku mentions the fusion is permanent. Vegeta curses, but it is too late. The two Saiyans fly at each other, and a tremendous flash of light engulfs the battlefield. When the glow fades, Buu stops dead, still holding his attack, as a brand-new warrior greets him with a confident grin.
