Goku proposes using the Dragon Balls to learn how to become a Super Saiyan God. Shenron reveals the ritual requires six righteous Saiyans, and Videl's unborn child fills the sixth spot. Goku ascends to godhood and battles Beerus across space. Though the form fades, Beerus spares Earth, leaving Goku with a revelation about the twelve universes.
With Beerus poised to destroy Earth, Goku proposes summoning Shenron to learn how the Super Saiyan God is created. The Eternal Dragon explains that six righteous Saiyans must pour their energy into one vessel. Only five Saiyans are present until Videl reveals she is pregnant with Gohan's child, providing the crucial sixth. The group performs the ritual, and Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan God. His new appearance shocks everyone, and Beerus is thrilled. Goku declares that Earth's survival hangs on his victory. Beerus responds that no being in any universe surpasses him.
Goku opens with a charge, but Beerus blocks the initial assault. As the fight escalates through the city and into the stratosphere, Beerus notes that Goku is adapting to the divine form in real time. Their collisions in space cause distant planets to shatter. The Super Saiyan God form is temporary, and Goku's energy drains. Beerus launches a Sphere of Destruction toward Earth, but Goku counters with a Limitbreaker Kamehameha. The transformation expires, yet Beerus is impressed enough to spare the planet. He reveals the existence of twelve universes, identifies himself as the god of the seventh, and discloses that Whis serves as his instructor, making the angel even stronger than a God of Destruction.
On the Sacred World of the Kai, Kibito Kai uses the Namekian Dragon Balls to undo the Potara fusion, splitting back into Shin and Kibito. Old Kai scolds them for wasting the earrings' power. Meanwhile, Frieza Force soldiers discover a planet-sized Dragon Ball in space. Champa destroys their ship before they can report back. At headquarters on Planet Frieza 17, Sorbet learns of the loss and concludes that reviving Emperor Frieza is their only hope for survival.
