Outmatched from the Start

With Universe 9 erased and 43 minutes remaining, the exempt Gods of Destruction note that every team has lost fighters except Universe 11. Goku confronts Top and Dyspo as a Super Saiyan but is completely overwhelmed. Dyspo's speed creates openings for Top, who pounds Goku into the arena floor.

As his energy fades, Goku spots Hit getting knocked aside by Jiren. He transforms into Perfected Super Saiyan Blue and rushes in, but a single Kiai sends him flying. Goku lands next to Hit and learns that the Time-Skip is useless against Jiren. Top and Dyspo move to assist, but Jiren tells them he will handle both opponents alone.

Every Technique Falls Short

Goku fires everything he has. Instant Transmission, physical combos, and a Burst Kamehameha all fail to move Jiren an inch. From the stands, Krillin asks Whis if Goku has a stronger form; Whis confirms Perfected Super Saiyan Blue is his current peak. Jiren retaliates and drives Goku toward the edge, but Hit saves him with a well-timed kick.

Hit reveals that after Goku broke through his Time-Skip during the Tournament of Destroyers, he stopped relying on special abilities alone and began training his raw combat skills. He removes his cloak and attacks Jiren physically, but even together the two cannot find an opening.

The Time Lag Gambit

Hit tells Goku he has one final technique. Goku, however, powers down, admitting he wants to defeat Jiren alone and needs to break through a wall during this tournament. Hit ignores him and activates his new ability, the Time Lag. Rather than freezing Jiren completely, it warps time around him and drastically reduces his speed. Hit pushes Jiren to the very edge, but Goku notices something is wrong: Jiren has been holding back. In an instant, Jiren accelerates past the Time Lag and punches Hit off the platform. Goku tells Jiren he saw through the deception, and Jiren praises his perception.
