The Grand Minister reveals Merus is an Angel trainee who violated the code of impartiality. Whis convinces his father to let him handle it. On Yardrat, Vegeta's Spirit Control advances rapidly and he dispatches Moro's scouts with ease. When he learns Earth is next, he asks Pybara for a technique to defeat Moro.
At Zeno's Palace, the Grand Minister tells Whis that Merus is an Angel trainee dispatched to Universe 7 to broaden his perspective on mortal life. Despite the strict requirement for Angels to remain impartial, Merus joined the Galactic Patrol and developed a clear sense of right and wrong. The Grand Minister declares it is time to recall him. Whis intervenes, arguing that Merus has only used mortal weapons and is merely training Goku, much as Whis himself has done. The Grand Minister accepts this reasoning and lets Whis handle the matter.
On Planet Yardrat, Irico fails to reach headquarters when a Moro scout ship enters orbit. Vegeta has been training under Pybara and has refined his spirit faster than Goku ever did. Pybara heals his injuries and begins teaching him Instant Transmission. When scouts attack the nearby city, Vegeta races over and confronts Yuzun and two henchmen. He fires a concentrated blast from his fingertip that shocks even himself. Pybara explains the power is Vegeta's own, unlocked through spiritual balance. Vegeta dispatches both allies instantly and overwhelms Yuzun even after the enemy transforms into a monstrous form.
Vegeta tells Yuzun to surrender, but Yuzun reveals Earth is Moro's next target and tries to flee. The hardened building chunk Vegeta deflected earlier circles back and destroys the ship, killing all three enemies. Vegeta senses that Earth has not been invaded yet and asks Pybara to teach him a technique strong enough to defeat Moro. Over the following months, Moro devours planets to reach maximum power while both Saiyans train. When Merus asks Goku for one final all-out sparring match, Whis appears and reveals the truth. Goku learns Merus is an Angel whose full power would mean erasure. Whis restores Merus's angelic attire and halo, and the two Angels depart, leaving Goku stranded with a ship he cannot pilot.
