Takeuchi provided both in-between and key animation work on the original Dragon Ball series, including six in-between animation episodes and five key animation episodes across various sagas. His contributions encompassed the Emperor Pilaf, Tournament, Red Ribbon Army, and Piccolo Jr. sagas. Takeuchi established himself as a versatile animator across decades of productions. He served as animation director and character designer on Bodacious Space Pirates, undertook similar supervisory roles on My-HiME and The Big O, and directed entire films including Zunda Horizon and Trigun: Badlands Rumble. His animation direction on Cowboy Bebop and animation supervisor work on Shenmue the Animation demonstrated evolution toward senior technical positions within the animation industry.
