Legendary Japanese voice actor with a distinctive cold voice, voiced Nam and Eis Shenron in Dragon Ball franchise before his death in 2000.
Kaneto Shiozawa was a legendary Japanese voice actor from Tokyo affiliated with Aoni Production who voiced Nam in the original Dragon Ball series and Sky Dragon. Most notably, he voiced Eis Shenron, the Ice Shadow Dragon, in Dragon Ball GT, lending his distinctively cold and calm voice to the villain. Shiozawa's vocal range and commanding presence made him particularly suited to antagonistic roles throughout anime.
Shiozawa passed away on May 10, 2000, at age 46 from a cerebral contusion after falling down his stairway at home. Fellow Dragon Ball voice actor Hidekatsu Shibata, who also voiced a Shadow Dragon in Dragon Ball GT, attended his funeral. Despite his brief career, Shiozawa's distinctive voice and memorable Dragon Ball roles secured his place in the franchise's history.
