Canadian voice actor and performer who voiced Goku for the longest stretch of any English actor, from episodes 145-276 of the Ocean Group dub, defining the hero's voice in later Dragon Ball Z arcs.
Kirby Morrow voiced Goku for the final and longest run in the Ocean Group's English dub of Dragon Ball Z, covering episodes 145-276 and thus encompassing the later sagas where Goku's character evolved from warrior to mentor. His performance carried the hero through the Trunks Saga, Androids and Cell Sagas, and into the Majin Buu Saga, making him the voice most associated with Goku's later character arc for Ocean dub audiences. Morrow was the preferred candidate to reprise the role for Dragon Ball Z Kai but was ultimately not selected for the revamp.
Morrow studied theater at Mount Royal University in Calgary and worked extensively with Ocean Productions in Vancouver. Beyond Dragon Ball, he voiced Trowa Barton in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Cyclops in X-Men: Evolution, and Miroku in InuYasha. He also worked as a stand-up comedian and appeared in live-action television and stage productions. Morrow passed away in November 2020 at age 47.
