Katsuyuki Sumisawa wrote screenplays for Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Z Kai, crafting pivotal episodes and narrative arcs across the franchise. He also penned the Dragon Ball Z special Bardock: The Father of Goku, expanding the lore beyond Toriyama's original manga. His work shaped the dialogue and pacing that brought some of the franchise's most memorable moments to animation.
After training under established screenwriter Takao Koyama in 1987, Sumisawa became a prolific anime writer with credits spanning action, supernatural, and comedy series.
