Fish-like humanoid aliens who have served the Frieza Clan since the era of Chilled, making them among the oldest documented members of the galactic empire. Cabira, a henchman of the ancient space pirate Chilled, is the species' namesake.
Cabira's race consists of large, fish-like humanoids who stand taller than the average Earthling. In the manga, Cabira is depicted with gills on his shoulders and legs, emphasizing the species' aquatic origins, while the anime adaptation gives him a more reptilian appearance. Members of this race share certain physical traits with Cui's race, including a similar head shape, ear style, lack of a visible nose, and thick lips. However, their body proportions and eye structure more closely resemble Burter's race. A distinctive fin-like crest runs along the top of their heads, giving them a silhouette unlike any other Frieza Force species.
What makes Cabira's race historically significant is the timeline of their service. Cabira himself served under Chilled, a distant ancestor of Frieza who operated as a space pirate long before the modern Frieza Force existed. This places the species among the very earliest alien races to be absorbed into the Frieza Clan's growing empire. Cabira accompanied Chilled on his missions and was present during the events depicted in "Episode of Bardock," where the time-displaced Saiyan warrior Bardock confronted Chilled on Planet Plant.
Cabira was a large and physically imposing soldier, but his size did little to help against Bardock, who punched through his defenses with ease. The species' long tenure in the Frieza Force is confirmed by their continued presence centuries later: in the Resurrection 'F' manga, another member of this race appears among Sorbet and Frieza's army of 1,000 soldiers during the invasion of Earth.
Cabira's race holds the quiet distinction of being one of the few species whose service to the Frieza Clan can be traced across multiple generations of leadership, from Chilled's era to Frieza's modern army. Their continued recruitment suggests the species offers something valuable enough to maintain a place in the organization across centuries, whether that is raw physical strength, loyalty, or simply availability. Like many of the unnamed Frieza Force races, they exist in the narrative primarily to fill out the ranks and give the empire a sense of genuine interstellar scope, but their documented longevity in the organization makes them more historically notable than most.
