Italian voice actor and dubbing director best known as the iconic Italian voice of adult Son Goku across Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and their films.
Torrisi, whose real name was Maurizio Torresan, became the defining voice of adult Goku for Italian audiences. He voiced the character throughout Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT, and oversaw the dubbing direction of these works at Merak Film, ensuring consistency in quality and tone. His performances spanned all theatrical Dragon Ball films released during his lifetime, making him synonymous with Goku's character in Italy. His warmth, humor, and strength brought Goku to life for generations of Italian fans who grew up with his distinctive portrayal.
Torrisi began his voice acting career at age 18 in 1969, voicing the character Pierre in the first Italian anime film adaptation. By 1973, he committed fully to dubbing, joining ADC in 1975 where he voiced protagonists like Grisù the dragon and dubbed actor Johnny Whitaker in Family Affair. He worked extensively as both voice actor and director across numerous Milanese dubbing studios. Beyond Dragon Ball, he voiced Mowgli in The Jungle Book and other notable anime characters. Torrisi passed away in 2005 at age 54; Mediaset honored him with a tribute video when Dragon Ball Super premiered in Italy.
