Summary

Ken Kaneki slips past Koutarou Amon's swings while repeating that he has no wish to fight. Amon presses on regardless and triggers Kura's decay phase, forcing Kaneki to bring out his kagune. Before striking, Kaneki asks for Amon's name, and Amon privately hopes Kaneki will live so he can one day learn about his history.

Investigators relay the fight to Itsuki Marude, identifying Amon's foe as the Centipede. Yoshitoki Washuu insists Amon must not let Kaneki escape. Hideyoshi Nagachika frets that ghouls might reach the headquarters, though Marude judges it improbable.

Kaneki succeeds in wrecking Kura and stripping Amon of his weapon. Kouitsu Chigyou then blunders onto the scene, handing Amon an improved Doujima and a self-fastening Arata armor.
