Salamander

Salamander operates as an adult human male under the Lizard League's reptilian banner, though his chosen name sits oddly among his teammates. A salamander is an amphibian rather than a lizard, resembling one only through convergent evolution, making his moniker an outlier in the League's lineup.

Salamander shows the traits of a dependable League enforcer, answering the call of whoever happens to be leading the group and throwing himself into their operations without visible complaint. Across those missions he reads as a combat-minded loyalist rather than a schemer, content to fight where he is pointed.

Salamander gained his powers at some point and fell in with the Lizard League. Under Queen Lizard he helped raid a facility hunting for a serum, a heist broken up by the era's heroes and finished off once Omni-Man arrived. Later, on King Lizard's orders, he joined a plot to transform humanity into snakes; the untested new Guardians of the Globe scattered the League but let some civilians be changed in the chaos, and the fallout saw the leader jailed.

The group revived under Supreme Lizard, hitting a bio research lab before the Guardians, briefly impersonated by Shapesmith, put them down yet again. As Supreme Lizard tried to rally the humiliated ranks, King Lizard returned and shot him dead to retake command. The League's final stand came at a Wyoming missile base, where a tripped alarm sealed them in with Rex Splode, Dupli-Kate, and Shrinking Rae. Salamander squared off against Shrinking Rae, who shrank down, slipped in through his eye, and killed him from the inside.
