Appearance

The color of Chitose's skin, a soft blue, registers before anything else about her, though her eyes hold attention longer: green irises floating in sclerae that are entirely black, with pupils just as dark. Unusually long lashes frame them, and the lines around them sit oddly against her small brows. She keeps her lilac hair long and swept to one side, and her lips are full.

Gold earrings and a navy gown with bared shoulders and long sleeves make up her usual look, cinched by a belt that crosses in an X over a round buckle. Pale laced boots reach up her legs. For the Revival Party she throws a salmon jacket on top, left open, its collar and hem trimmed in black fur.

Personality

Her code name fits. Chitose chases stories with an appetite that borders on illness, and after Rikiya Yotsubashi told her that rumor-based writing moves nobody, she built her whole method around talking to people face to face. Even a firefight becomes, in her hands, a chance to ask what a person wants and why. She liked to say that no story had ever gotten away from her, not since her earliest days in the trade.

All of it serves the Meta Liberation Army. She believed the public heart could be won on the page, and she was ready to spend anything to win it, including the people under her command; turning her own soldiers into living bombs struck her as their generous contribution rather than her cruelty. The League of Villains bored her, but Himiko Toga did not. Chitose had already dug through the girl's family, her school friends, and her whole ordinary past, and she intended to kill her and then print her as a martyr, a child driven mad by a society that made her hide her Quirk. That the subject herself begged not to be pitied changed nothing.

Curiosity that strong burned out her instinct for self-preservation. Knives came close enough to open her and she kept asking questions. Dropped from a lethal height at the end, she spent her last seconds delighted by how good the copy was going to be, laughing over her subject's lines, apparently unaware she was about to hit the ground.

History

Chitose met Rikiya Yotsubashi at some point before the modern Army took shape and joined his cause. Reading an article of hers, he dismissed rumor-driven copy as worthless and told her that writing meant to steer public opinion has to carry a human pulse, advice she never let go of. She rose to executive director at Shoowaysha Publishing while quietly sitting among the Army's leadership, and at the meeting where Re-Destro announced that the League of Villains would be destroyed, she raised the matter of Detnerat's recent move into the hero industry.

The Revival Celebration brought her face to face with Himiko, whom she recognized from the blood-draining killings. Chitose floated a headline about a schoolgirl's ruin; Himiko refused it, and the interview turned into a battle. Swarming the girl with subordinates, Chitose questioned her between attacks about where she had learned to fight, why she walked away from a normal life, and what broke her. Landmine let her hand out explosive properties by touch, and she used it on her own men, detonating the blood Himiko had swallowed to keep her from transforming.

When Himiko did transform, into Ochaco Uraraka, Chitose read it as a last bid to look sweet before dying. Zero Gravity lifted her and her squad into the air instead. Told that the girl only wanted to love harder, Chitose declared the headline of her career, and Himiko released her. The fall killed her and her men. Re-Destro wept over the loss, and after the Army's defeat the Paranormal Liberation Front that rose in its place buried the truth, feeding the press a story about an accident to hide the fighting in Deika City altogether.
