Nuke Nuke no Mi

Debuting in One Piece Film: Gold, this non-canon Paramecia power allows its consumer to pass straight through solid objects. Tanaka, a guard of the Gran Tesoro, ate it. The name traces to nukeru, a Japanese verb meaning to pass or slip through. Localizations call it the Through-Through Fruit, with the Treasure Cruise game opting for Phase-Phase Fruit instead.

At its core the fruit renders the user intangible to anything inorganic, granting both unconventional movement and a way to dodge weapons and projectiles that are not alive. The intangibility can be extended to whatever the user touches, allowing companions or objects to phase along with him, and he can even make the floor itself permeable so that people drop through it. The crucial limitation is biological: the power cannot penetrate living tissue, which is why Tanaka could neither escape Robin's grasping hands nor evade Sanji's kicks. He also remains subject to the usual Devil Fruit weaknesses, and consequently appears unable to pass through seawater. His named moves include Through Illusion, where he bobs in and out of the ground while firing his gun to disorient foes, and Bottomless Hell, which opens a vast hole beneath enemies to drop them into the Golden Prison.

Tanaka is the only user. As a security guard he phases across Gran Tesoro to reach any disturbance instantly, accesses doorless rooms others cannot enter, and dispatches criminals by opening the ground beneath them into a cavern below. In a fight he repeatedly surfaces from the ground at shifting angles to shoot and bewilder his opponents. The ability resembles Senor Pink's Sui Sui no Mi and Blueno's Doa Doa no Mi in how it moves through solid surfaces.
