Grey hoses thicken his arms and terminate in yellow rubber gloves gripped with green. Below sits a belt and waterproof trousers, and his oversized boots carry a faint wave motif around the opening plus circles underfoot that vent bubbles.

The post-war rebuild swaps the model. He now suggests a front loader, its round door replacing the lid he used to wear, while the arm hoses lighten to beige and the gloves go pale blue with cuffs of black.

The public gets something aimed squarely at children, which conceals how seriously he takes any of it. He does get annoyed. Civilians already bleeding scolded him for being slow, and he disinfected their injuries regardless, dropping the persona and simply talking like a man while he worked.

Vigilantes puts him at the Tokyo Sky Egg as a guest of Captain Celebrity's farewell event, where he takes the stage and runs a few Quirk tricks on Gang Orca and the sidekicks with him.

The main series meets him at the biannual billboard announcement that names him eighth. Invited to comment, he offers only "Washa!" He later accepts Koji Koda and Manga Fukidashi for a second round of work studies, and Koji leaves with better communication and firmer control over animals.

By the following March, police work plus everything Hawks smuggled out from undercover lets the Hero Public Safety Commission mobilise against the Paranormal Liberation Front. Wash joins the force Endeavor leads into Jaku General Hospital to seize Kyudai Garaki and Tomura Shigaraki. Garaki bolts for his laboratory and releases Nomu while trying to rouse Tomura early. The team splits, and Wash takes the half clearing patients, visitors and staff out. When the other half fails and Decay begins consuming everything, killing heroes by the dozen, he answers with vast bubbles that scoop up the evacuees and lift them clear of the rot, saving himself in the process before returning to the evacuation. Near the close he is among those who try and fail to keep the escaping Tomura and his Near High-End escort from slipping away.

What follows is grim. Prison raids flood the streets with villains, public anger drives heroes out of the profession in numbers, and civilians who have stopped believing buy support gear instead. When Cider House, out of Shian Prison, hits a Shinjuku store, an armed mob of civilians settles it first. Wash arrives to a finished fight and a ruined block. Verifying that the crowd really was carrying gear, he catches a thrown frying pan to the skull from a bystander who berates him for his timing. Irritated but unbowed, he bubbles the wounded to disinfect them and floats them to a hospital.

He stays through the collapse, still evacuating and still hunting. Before the last war he hands Edgeshot a bubble, which later sterilises the man's body as he revives a dying Katsuki Bakugo. Once the plan to draw All For One out using Yuga Aoyama and Izuku matures, Wash pours in with dozens of heroes through gates Neito Monoma copied, catching the villain unprepared. All Might springs the Troy trap, caging villains for the heroes to feed into further gates and scatter nationwide. The heroes take their fights one after another until only Mt. Fuji remains, and the army Eraser Head brings lets Izuku break through and end it. Eight years on he is still working, still ranked eighth.

Clean Bubbler underwrites all of it, generating and steering soapy water straight out of him. The jet alone suspends several people at once, and he can also blow large bubbles that swallow a target and carry them aloft.
