A power that lets its owner treat both arms as elastic weapons, stretching them across a room, swelling the fists mid-swing, or splitting them into several strands at once. All For One took it from a stranger and later handed it to Hood, who never quite made peace with it.
Transforming Arms is a Transformation Quirk rated at mid-range. Its original owner is never identified, since All For One stole it and eventually passed it on to Hood. The ability debuts in Chapter 186 and Episode 87, and picks up its name two chapters later.
The user's arms stop behaving like fixed limbs. They can stretch far past their normal span, delivering rubbery strikes from well outside conventional reach, and they can swell in size so a fist lands with far more mass behind it. The arms can also divide into multiple strands, wrapping around a target from several angles so a barrage arrives at once instead of a single blow.
The catch is compatibility. A fighter whose instincts do not suit shape-shifting gains little from it. Hood built his style on close-quarters martial arts, and the Quirk pulled against that habit: winding up a stretched attack introduced a slight delay, and O'Clock spotted the lag during their fight and exploited it.
Hood is the ability's showcase. Before his High-End conversion, the Underground Masquerade pitted him against Rumi Usagiyama, Kendo Rappa, and O'Clock, a brawl in which he extended his arms and legs to snatch at opponents or drag them out of position, enlarging his fists for heavier hits, and grabbing nearby objects to swing as improvised weapons. All For One had only recently gifted him the power, expecting it to round out his arsenal, and openly regretted how poorly it fit the way Hood liked to fight.
Once he was rebuilt into a High-End Nomu, the power found a use its original owner may never have imagined. He reshapes his arms into wings and pairs them with his Shoulder-Mounted Jets, letting the boosters drive him through the air at high speed. All For One himself is listed as a former holder before the transfer.
In My Hero Academia, arm-stretching combat is most associated with Hood, a villain and later High-End Nomu who wields the Transforming Arms Quirk to stretch, enlarge, and split his arms into multiple strands.
Transforming Arms is a Transformation-type Quirk in My Hero Academia that lets its user's arms stretch far past their normal span, swell in size, and split into multiple strands for close combat.
Transforming Arms was originally owned by an unidentified person before All For One stole it. All For One later transferred the Quirk to Hood as part of his arsenal.
Transforming Arms does not suit every fighting style, and it clashed with Hood's close-quarters martial arts background. Winding up a stretched attack introduces a slight delay, a weakness his opponent O'Clock exploited during their fight.
After his conversion into a High-End Nomu, Hood reshaped his Transforming Arms into wings and combined them with his Shoulder-Mounted Jets to fly at high speed.
