Hound Dog kept order at U.A. through sheer intimidation, a Pro Hero whose canine Quirk turns his angriest speeches into growls and howls. Students feared him and he leaned into it, though the roughness masked genuine care. Eight years on from the Final War he left teaching behind to run a dog park.
Ryo's Quirk, Dog, has shaped him into something close to a canine outright. A shaggy blond mane juts straight backward from his head, and his face tapers into a mildly pointed snout, over which he straps a muzzle in costume. At 196 centimeters he towers over the students he supervises.
Anger scrambles his speech. What leaves his mouth in those moments arrives as fragments of words tangled with growling, enough to frighten the student body into line, a reputation he embraces rather than corrects. His Ultra Analysis profile pins him as a workaholic, and his roughness reads less as hostility than as an overexcited dog showing affection, as when he tossed Izuku Midoriya into the air and told him to enjoy the festival. His Volume 14 profile lists drinks with dinner and soccer among his favorite things.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
He first appears among the U.A. teachers who rush the Unforeseen Simulation Joint to back up Class 1-A and All Might once the League of Villains attacks. At the second term's opening ceremony he speaks last as head of student discipline, only for his temper to reduce the address to garbled words and growls capped by a howl that unnerves the students; Vlad King, with whom he gets along well, takes the microphone and restates what Ryo meant to say while Ryo stalks off sulking.
He and Ectoplasm draw the security assignment for the U.A. School Festival. He spends the night before shouting at Class 1-A to sleep, then catches the scent of intruders once the event opens and moves out with a group of Ectoplasm's clones. They find Gentle Criminal and La Brava already beaten by Izuku, and Gentle surrenders. Afterward Ryo credits Izuku with saving the festival while chewing him out for acting alone on a provisional license without calling the heroes nearby. Izuku accepts the criticism, which satisfies Ryo enough that he flings him off toward the festivities.
The Final War brings a strange symmetry. When Skeptic seizes U.A.'s main systems and its underground evacuation network, La Brava hijacks the work from under him alongside the Police Force, and Skeptic bolts only to find Hound Dog and students from Ketsubutsu Academy High School waiting outside his hideout on her tip. Ryo remarks on the odd turns fate takes, working beside the criminals he once arrested while Gentle rescues the floating U.A. above, then hauls Skeptic away under arrest. Later, once Shota Aizawa regains control of Kurogiri, Ryo is among the heroes warped to Mt. Fuji against All For One, carrying Thirteen on his back so she can pull the villain in with Black Hole while Gang Orca, Seiji, Burnin, and others blunt his counterattack and let the swarm overwhelm him. His Quirk grants him canine traits including a heightened sense of smell. Eight years later he resigns from the school and owns a dog park.
Ryo Inui, the Hound Dog Hero, served as U.A.'s Head of Student Discipline and fought in the Paranormal Liberation War and the Final War. Eight years after the war he resigned from teaching and now owns a dog park.
Hound Dog's Quirk is called Dog, which gives Ryo Inui canine traits including a heightened sense of smell, and turns his angry speeches into growls and howls that students find frightening.
Ryo Inui served as U.A. High School's Head of Student Discipline and stood 196 centimeters tall as one of its Pro Hero teachers, known to students by his hero name Hound Dog.
Ryo Inui's anger scrambles his speech into growling fragments capped by a howl, a reputation he leans into rather than corrects, even though his roughness comes more from overexcited affection than real hostility.
Ryo Inui and Ectoplasm handled security during the U.A. School Festival. When he caught the scent of intruders he moved out with a group of Ectoplasm's clones and found that Gentle Criminal and La Brava had already been beaten and captured by Izuku Midoriya.
