Soramitsu Tabe

Character

One of the Eight Bullets serving Overhaul and the Shie Hassaikai, Soramitsu Tabe is a permanently starving man in a burlap sack mask whose teeth go through any solid thing put in front of them. Society had no place for him until Overhaul found him. Against Suneater, whose power manifests what he has eaten, that appetite makes him a nightmare matchup.

Appearance

Under the mask is a slim man with pale skin, dark bags beneath circular eyes whose pupils have shrunk to pinpricks, and short black hair that goes wherever it likes. His hands run larger than average and end in bony fingers. His mouth is notably wide, plausibly a consequence of his Quirk, and the teeth inside it are straight.

What everyone actually sees is a ragged burlap sack pulled over his whole head, cinched at the neck with a knot of rope, two holes cut for his eyes, and a grin sewn across the front. He wears a purple dress shirt with grey pants beneath it, and his hands drift toward his mouth often enough to be a tell, one his instability and his Quirk both feed.

Personality

Sanity is not on offer here. Hunger never leaves him and eating is the only thing that holds his attention, and the combination of that Quirk and that mind made a normal life impossible from the start.

Like the rest of the Eight Bullets, he is a man who has already given up. Dignity gone and no reason left to keep going, he handed himself wholly to the Shie Hassaikai and would spend his life for the group without hesitating. Overhaul is the reason: Kai Chisaki pulled him out of nothing and offered him some worth, which bought a deep respect and a standing willingness to kill anyone in his leader's path.

The Bullets themselves he counts as real friends, since their ruined histories and their sense of being worthless mirror his own. The bond holds even against his one governing impulse, and he will not eat Yu Hojo no matter how devoted to Overhaul he is or how freely he would kill a stranger.

Abilities

Overall Abilities: A place among the Eight Bullets is not handed out, and Soramitsu earns his. He usually works in a trio alongside Yu Hojo and Toya Setsuno, and the coordination between them is genuine. Toya's Larceny strips an opponent's weapons away, and Soramitsu moves through the opening it makes, chewing through whatever comes back at him. Their teamwork was sharp enough to blindside Tamaki Amajiki repeatedly and overwhelm him, and he ranks second among the Big 3 at U.A. High School.

Food: His teeth bite through and swallow any solid substance regardless of how durable it is, and his stomach processes whatever he puts down it without complaint. That makes him a direct counter to Manifest, since Suneater's power produces forms out of things he has eaten and Soramitsu can simply eat those forms in turn.

Enhanced Bite: The jaws behind it are severe. Cutting through the enormous tentacles of Tamaki's Kraken took him seconds, which implies both a punishing bite force and teeth tough enough to survive the work.

Enhanced Speed: Aside from the Quirk itself, his pace is what stands out. He consumes bulk material fast, dances out of wide flurries of attacks without a scratch, and generally holds the advantage over most opponents in anything involving quick movement.

All of it goes on display during the Shie Hassaikai Raid. Mimic drops the group led by Sir Nighteye down into a hall beneath the building, and Soramitsu turns up with Yu to meet the heroes and police officers there. Suneater declares he will handle the three alone, dismissing them as pawns whose only purpose is to burn time. Toya reaches for the officers' guns with Larceny and Eraser Head shuts the Quirk off; Yu draws instead, and Suneater's tentacles disarm and pin all three at once. Toya breaks loose with a knife concealed in his mask and wounds a tentacle, Yu answers with Crystallize and is met by Kraken, and Soramitsu wakes up and starts eating the tentacles one after another. Suneater tries poisoning him, and Toya steals the poison outright. With Yu lining up the finish, Suneater turns their own coordination against them and puts down all three. Arrest follows once Overhaul's own fight ends.
