Chapter 334

Riding Wing, torn off the Near High-End Nomu moments before he Burst it, Tomura runs from the battlefield hunting for a body to unload New Order into before the Quirk and the jets finish him off. Cursing All Might's existence one more time, he takes to the sky and outpaces his pursuers. Ethan Drive looks at what is left of Cathleen Bate and thinks that she was already the greatest hero there was.

At a pier, an escaped convict named Kashiko Kashi is lying low with another former inmate when Tomura crashes into their hideout. He grabs Kashiko's face, intending to strip his Quirk and leave him Quirkless so that New Order can be parked in him without revolting, preserving it for later.

He never gets there. Her vestige surfaces to jeer at him, because revolting against so many Quirks has burned out the last of her embers. Fading, she declares that even without killing him, for as long as anyone still steps forward to save someone else, the will of heroism will keep finding a new carrier, and one of them will finish him. All For One retorts that the winner is simply whoever lives longest. Deep in the core of the fused pair, the boy Tenko Shimura sits ringed by hands with the word hero in his head, and calls for Izuku Midoriya.

Japanese heroes and the American pilots chase the trail but find only the wreckage at Kashiko's hideout, which puts them back at square one. Word of Star's death circles the globe, and the nations conclude that if she could not beat him, sending their own heroes to Japan means sending them to die while leaving home undefended. Afraid of collapse from within, every country including the United States pulls its aid, over objections from heroes like Salaam.

Star's pilots visit All Might to tell him her death was not wasted, and he quietly admits he wishes he could have seen her again. Their jets recorded the entire fight, logging the villain's bio-signatures along with every Quirk he used, and they hand the data over to sit alongside the research already running at Central Hospital.

The following day, two days after Izuku came back to campus, All Might briefs Class 1-A. The villain's body was due to be whole tomorrow, but Star's fight has knocked him out of action for at least another week, and that week is her parting gift. He tells them to spend it well as Izuku and the rest prepare to finish All For One and Tomura for good.

Wing, stripped off the Nomu's remains, carries the villain clear of the battlefield.

His plan to park New Order inside the escaped convict Kashiko Kashi collapses when the Quirk burns out, having already chewed through a long list of his own powers.

At the center of the fused pair, Tenko Shimura reaches for Izuku by name.

Every nation cancels its offer of aid once Star's death becomes public, and the pilots hand the heroes a full recording of the fight, bio-signatures and Quirks included.

All Might tells Class 1-A that the extra week before the villain is whole again is what Star bought them.

The chapter closes the Star and Stripe arc and concludes the fight between Tomura Shigaraki and Cathleen Bate. It runs fifteen pages in Volume 34, published November 22, 2021 in issue 51, with Star and Stripe on the cover, and is adapted in Episode 140.
