Pickles

Pickles is a big, husky man dressed mostly in green-toned clothing, with long arms, short legs, and a face that recalls a hippopotamus. Rounded shoulder pauldrons usually sit on his shoulders. Among the Groggy Monsters he falls in the middle for size, larger than Hamburg yet smaller than the towering Big Pan.

A strong rival excites Pickles, who grew eager the moment Foxy chose his team for the Groggy Ring, though his impatience flares when opponents dawdle. He carries himself with cockiness about his squad's skill and is amused when rivals cannot cooperate, yet he turns jittery the instant a powerful foe catches him off guard. Respect for opponents is not his way: he cheats freely, never owns up to it, and revels in his wins regardless of foul play, smirking as he and his teammates pummeled Sanji and Zoro. Like the rest of his trio he is rather dim and quick to laugh for little reason, though he ranks as the sharpest and toughest of the three. After their defeat he proved a graceful loser, though he was stunned when Luffy chose to claim their Jolly Roger.

Tackling and spinning are Pickles' specialties, and he can barrel into opponents or whirl at high speed, growing far deadlier when paired with Hamburg and Big Pan for coordinated combination attacks. He normally enters a Groggy Ring bout unarmed, but seizes any chance to break the rules with hidden gear whenever the bribed referee looks away, his spiked pauldrons sharpening his tackles and his concealed swords turning his spins lethal. His named moves include the straight-charging Sling Tackle, the flanking Osoji Tackle, the airborne Spinning Tackle, and the Ningen Taiho, in which Big Pan launches him from his mouth. The trio also unleash combination finishers such as Size Attack S-M-L and the weapon-laden Monster Burger.
