Destruction of the Straw Hat Pirates? The Terror of the Model Leopard!

Lucci's new shape comes from a Zoan Devil Fruit, the Neko Neko no Mi, Model Leopard, which lets him become a hulking cat. He makes short work of the pirates, and CP9 binds Paulie and Iceburg before leaving them as the mansion burns around them. Down in Franky's concealed hideout, Usopp pours out his story, and the gruff cyborg is at last moved by it. Touched, Franky offers something in return, sharing details about everything Tom once did for Water 7.

As fire climbs the first floor of Iceburg Mansion, the Galley-La men rush upstairs, but Lucci holds them off with Rankyaku that slices the building nearly in two. He flings both Luffy and Zoro into the sea and knocks Nami out a window. With the captives left helpless beside the flames, CP9 sets off to wring the blueprints out of Franky. Lucci then corners the Franky Family, who refuse to surrender Franky's whereabouts, so he beats the answer out of them and the agents head for the warehouse beneath the bridge.

Inside the warehouse, Franky tells Usopp he hauled the ship away to shield it from Aqua Laguna, noting that Water 7 itself is slowly sinking. This installment introduces Dear Friends as the new ending theme, and the second eyecatchers for Sanji and Usopp make their debut. Moved by Usopp's account of severing his bond with the crew, Franky improvises a tune he calls Severed Friendship, North Wind Chop. The episode is part of the Water 7 storyline.
