Summary

Bartolomeo declares he will send everyone to hell, and when the crowd jeers, he hurls an object that sparks a bomb scare, only for it to land with a harmless thud as a mere ball. Dagama sneers at the stunt while the announcer introduces the contrasting Bellamy, a fanatic so devoted to Doflamingo that he destroyed nations who insulted Dressrosa. Should Bellamy win, he is promised a high executive post in the Donquixote Family, making him a tournament favorite.

The bell rings and the melee begins. Tank Lepanto, Elizabello II, and Dagama agree to eliminate the strongest fighters first while they hold a numerical edge, effectively abandoning the free-for-all format. Bellamy mocks Lepanto, Dressrosa's defense captain, for joining them, and Lepanto answers that easy money matters more than dreams before the two clash. Several fighters fall into a lake teeming with flying fish and are disqualified.

In the viewing area, Cavendish tells Luffy that Bartolomeo earned the nickname Cannibal through his mockery of others and rose to fame after him. Cavendish examines his knife-marked bounty posters of the Worst Generation, hoping at least one rival lurks among the disguised entrants. Don Chinjao then interrupts, asking Luffy how Garp is doing and naming him Straw Hat Luffy, which stuns Cavendish. Chinjao explains Garp nearly killed him long ago, so he now holds a grudge against the man's bloodline.

Notes

This episode debuts Blue Gilly, Tank Lepanto, Ricky, and Aremo Ganmi. The anime reworks Bartolomeo's introduction, with the audience throwing trash rather than giving a thumbs down, and omits the manga's nose-picking gesture before the fake bomb. Cavendish explains Bartolomeo and the Block B big names to Luffy, unlike the manga. Pandaman appears among those fleeing the bomb scare. Aremo Ganmi, the woman who often hides her face in the crowd, appears for the first time, though her look changes across episodes since she is only identified in the SBS.
