To the East Blue - Sanji's Resolute Departure

While his enhanced siblings sharpen their skills against Germa 66 soldiers and earn Judge's praise, Sanji has spent six months imprisoned behind his iron mask. A guard loosens it so he can eat, and Sanji shares his beef with a hungry rat, recalling his father's order that royalty must serve no one and forget his dead mother. Memories surface of him slipping out into the rain, fending off a stray dog, and carrying a meal across the kingdom to the medical ward to cook for his ailing mother, Sora.

Despite the food being damaged on the way, his mother insists on eating what Sanji truly made, praises it, and asks him to cook for her again before she passes away. Back in his cell, Sanji practices cooking from a book where he first reads of the All Blue, even as his brothers continue to beat him.

Reiju tends Sanji's wounds while insisting she is not on his side, explaining that the body modifications stripped their brothers of empathy but spared her. She warns that Germa is about to cross the Red Line into the East Blue to wage war. As the kingdom's ships scale the Red Line and then descend on the town of Cozia, Reiju bends Sanji's cell bars and tells him he gets one chance to flee. Searching for the key to his mask, Sanji is caught by Judge, who, rather than kill him, grants his escape so his weak son will perish as a commoner, demanding only that Sanji never name him as his father. Weeping, Sanji removes the mask and, urged on by Reiju to never look back, races toward a docked cruise ship, the Orbit.

The anime expands the siblings' sparring, the rat in the dungeon, Sanji mourning at his mother's grave, the Germa fleet descending the Red Line, and additional bullying scenes. It also shows Reiju and Sanji fleeing together and her pointing him toward the mask's key. The narrator's usual introduction is dropped, with the recap beginning immediately after the opening. Sora and the maid Eponi debut here, along with the location Cozia.
