Against Wapol's Army Corps! The Abilities of the Baku Baku no Mi!

Set on bringing down the doctor Hiriluk's flag, the deposed king Wapol throws himself into a brawl against Sanji, Luffy, and Chopper atop Drum Castle. His Baku Baku no Mi lets him devour and reshape matter, and he turns the fight into a contest over the banner that flutters above the snowy peak.

After Chess alerts Wapol to the flag, Luffy launches the king skyward with Gomu Gomu no Pistol, only for his underlings to catch him at the cliff's edge. While Luffy ducks inside the castle to borrow warm clothing from Nami's jacket, Sanji shields Kureha from afros hurled by Kuromarimo, projectiles that seem harmless until they cling by static and ignite when Chess fires a flaming arrow. Luffy returns and combines force with Sanji to strike Wapol, who responds by swallowing Chess and Kuromarimo with Baku Baku Factory and spitting out the fused warrior Chessmarimo before blasting Hiriluk's Jolly Roger. Luffy catches the falling banner and raises it again using a sleeve of Nami's coat, refusing to flinch even when Wapol shoots him once more, leaving the flag proudly waving.

The installment leans into the symbolism of the Jolly Roger from an idealistic angle, with Luffy defending Hiriluk's flag as an emblem of faith and a vow worth risking one's life to protect. It debuts Chessmarimo and adapts material drawn from chapters 145 through 148.
