Chapter 1021

Manga ChapterCh. 1021

Titled "Demonio," the 1021st chapter closes Robin's fight with Black Maria as a winged demon clone seals the victory, and on the mainland Momonosuke pleads for Shinobu's aging ability so he can grow into a larger dragon.

Summary

Unmoved by Robin's new giant, Black Maria turns the contest around by hitting the sprouted limbs, since each blow to the clone reaches Robin's real body. She pins the giant form, hammers it with brass knuckles, and ignites her own flammable webs to drown the floor in flame, sneering all the while that Robin is useless baggage who only shields the disgraced Sanji. Caught in the blaze, Robin recalls her time among the Revolutionary Army, when Sabo and Koala each pressed her to learn their styles and she chose to drill her palm strikes.

Drawing on that Fish-Man Karate, Robin throws Mil Fleur: Fish-Man Karate: Giganteum, an enormous palm that slams the ceiling and snuffs the fire Maria set. She then assumes an all-new shape, Demonio Fleur, a dark winged demon, and rather than reject the comparison she owns it. Gripping Maria's entire body, Robin batters her unconscious with Gran Jacuzzi Clutch, while Brook ends her terrified underlings with Phrase d'armes: Orchestra and lifts Robin up, a Mary silently recording it all.

Key Events

Robin's duel with Black Maria reaches its conclusion. Robin shows she can stretch and twist her sprouted arms much as Luffy works his rubber limbs, and Maria's spider half is revealed to breathe fire from its mouth. Robin lands the fresh Fish-Man Karate move taught to her by Koala and Sabo, raises a vast demonic likeness of herself, and beats Maria. Brook then puts down Maria's subordinates.

On the shore, the Heart Pirates together with Caribou provide enough food for Luffy to recover. Speaking quietly with Shinobu, Momonosuke makes a request: he wants her to call on her ability and mature his body so he can grow into a bigger dragon.

Notes

At Tokage Port, Caribou supplies Luffy with a month's worth of food kept stored inside his own body and insists on being repaid. Off to one side, the young lord turns to Shinobu with a plea: he wants her power to age him into an adult so his dragon form can swell to a far greater size. She hesitates, cautioning that the change cannot be undone and that he would keep a child's heart and mind, yet he holds firm, certain that all of Wano falls if he waits any longer. This is the 1021st chapter of the Wano Country Arc, and its cover answers a request showing Franky and Senor Pink enjoying drinks together inside a Leopard's Bar.
