Chapter 1038: Kid & Law vs. Big Mom

On the third floor flames swallow both Raizo and Fukurokuju, the former scorched far worse, yet he refuses to release his foe though the man pleads for both their lives. One level down, a collapsing ceiling threatens fleeing samurai until Jinbe shields them, puzzled by how fast the blaze spreads. Where the stage stands, the side effects gripping Chopper at last fade, which relieves both Miyagi and Tristan, but he panics over Zoro, whose borrowed super medicine will deliver even harsher agony once it wears away. Waking and unable to move, Zoro glimpses a hooded reaper standing over him as Franky rushes toward the spot.

In the first-floor attic a wounded Izou has already brought down the Beasts Pirates and turns to the watching CP0. Guernika concedes that a former Whitebeard man cannot simply be ignored, yet their assignment concerns only the Straw Hats, so they intend to withdraw; Izou, however, keeps his eyes locked on them and bars their exit. Reaching the basement armory alongside Kanjuro's Kazenbo, Yamato freezes the explosives with Namuji Hyoga, watches the flame melt them, lands Mahobora, and is slathered in fire as the entity grows a hand.

On the Live Floor the two Supernovas lie defeated while their crews beg for mercy. Big Mom only laughs at the groveling, scattering both crews with Tenman Daijizai Tenjin before moving to ride Hera up to Kaidou. Law stops her first, extending his blade through her arm and head with K-ROOM: Anesthesia, then shocking her bloody once more via Shock Wille. The metal Homies charge him but are drawn toward a recovered Kid, who shapes an enormous bull and rams her into a wall with Punk Corna Dio. He tells her Kaidou is wearing thin, both Emperors like a mountain ground down by rain, and the pair vow that even death will not let her climb to the roof.

Raizo and Fukurokuju both burn as their struggle drags on. Jinbe ushers trapped samurai out of the second floor. Chopper reverts and frets that the mink medicine's aftermath will ravage Zoro's body. Zoro stirs to a scythe-wielding skeleton poised above him while Franky closes in. After clearing the crawlspace, Izou meets CP0 and blocks their attempt to leave on the excuse that their target is only the Straw Hats.

Yamato reaches the weapon vault, takes Human-Beast Form, ices the bombs, and battles Kazenbo. The stage duel continues: after the two Supernovas are knocked cold, Big Mom turns Hera on the Heart and Kid crews, then heads for the roof but is checked, pierced and electrocuted through the cheek by Law and pounded by Kid's magnet-driven bull mech.

The cover advances the ongoing Germa side serial. In it, Charlotte Mont-d'Or's power locks Niji and Yonji away inside Chocolat Town on Cacao Island after the Big Mom Pirates take the brothers prisoner. The chapter belongs to the Wano Country Arc.
