Chapter 472

Oars vaults into the courtyard, praising the pirates before declaring he will crush them, then drops from the air with his own original Gomu Gomu no Shirimochi. The crew scatters, Usopp mocking how silly the move looks. Franky calls on Usopp and Chopper for Tactics Fifteen, and together with Zoro and Sanji they combine into the mecha formation Pirates Docking 6, Big Emperor. Robin flatly refuses to join out of embarrassment, disappointing even Oars, who had watched in awe. The botched formation collapses, sending most of them crashing into a rock.

The crew shifts to coordinated strikes against each limb. Usopp fires an oil star beneath Oars' supporting hand to unbalance him, Sanji launches Zoro at high speed, and Zoro lands a Dai Gekken on the left arm. Robin pins that arm with Cien Fleur: Big Tree, leaving Oars on one leg, while Franky and Chopper scale a sky walk and slam a Super Frapper Gong into his jaw to rattle his skull. Sanji then sweeps out the final leg, flipping the giant onto his back. Meanwhile Nami finds the treasure room empty, and Bartholomew Kuma steps onto the dock asking for Moria.

This Thriller Bark Arc chapter marks the first time the crew knocks Oars down, Perona's attempt to flee with the loot and supplies, and Kuma's arrival in search of Gecko Moria. The cover continues Enel's Great Space Operations, revealing that the moon-dwellers once settled and named Enel's homeland Birka. Absalom and Lola appear in flashback, and Enel with the automata feature on the cover.
