Bob Papenbrook

Bob Papenbrook voiced Bora (credited as Haymaker) in Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure and contributed to the cast of Dragon Ball Z films and OVAs. His deep, distinctive voice made him a natural fit for authoritative male characters across the Dragon Ball franchise. He was a fixture in anime dubbing during the 1990s and 2000s, appearing in more titles than almost any other voice actor of his generation.

Papenbrook's career was marked by extraordinary prolific output across anime, OVAs, films, and specials. He voiced principal characters in Digimon, Lupin III, Tenchi Muyo!, Outlaw Star, Samurai Champloo, and The Twelve Kingdoms, among countless others. His death in March 2006 from chronic lung problems at age 50 marked the loss of one of dubbing's most dedicated and hardworking performers, a figure whose voice touched nearly every major anime property released in North America during his era.
