Lan Fan's flare launches the strike as Mustang's team drives the homunculi toward Laboratory 3. Deep in the abandoned labs, Roy corners Lust, learns she carries a Philosopher's Stone, and the duel with the immortal woman turns brutal.

Cornered and bleeding, Mustang cauterizes his own wounds and burns Lust until her Stone gives out. Pride is named for the first time, both Barrys die, and Bradley quietly watches the whole battle from the shadows.

Edward is smuggled east to the ruins of Xerxes, where Maria Ross is revealed to be alive after a staged death. Meanwhile Havoc loses feeling in his legs, and a man resembling Father returns to Resembool as Van Hohenheim.

Breda recounts how Mustang faked Ross's death with a decoy corpse and spirited her toward Xing. The group pools its homunculi intelligence, and Edward learns from Ishvalans of a tattooed killer as he heads to his mother's grave.

Hohenheim reads through Edward's anger and hints that the transmuted creature was never Trisha. Ling reveals his imperial bloodline and his stakes, while Envy abducts Marcoh in Breda's guise to exploit the Philosopher's Stone.

Edward and Pinako exhume the failed transmutation and confirm it was never Trisha, a discovery that lifts a weight from him. May Chang pledges herself to Yoki, and Scar cuts down the Silver Alchemist along a lonely shore.

Izumi confirms her own transmuted child was never truly her baby, freeing the Elrics of old guilt and proving Al's body still lives beyond the Gate. Havoc, discharged after his paralysis, is challenged by Roy to rise anyway.
