Vic Mignogna is an American actor and musician whose best-known role is voicing Edward Elric throughout the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise; in the English Bleach dub he voices the Zanpakuto spirits Hozukimaru and Senbonzakura, along with the character Ikkaku Madarame.
Mignogna's Bleach work centers on two manifested Zanpakuto spirits, Hozukimaru and Senbonzakura, distinct swords brought to life with their own personalities separate from the Soul Reapers who wield them. Separately, he is also credited as the English voice of Ikkaku Madarame, the shaven-headed Eleventh Division fighter whose Zanpakuto is Hozukimaru itself.
In 2007, Mignogna received the American Anime Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Edward Elric, and across his career he has voiced well over a hundred anime and game characters. He has also brought to life Broly from the Dragon Ball movies, Ouran High School Host Club's Tamaki Suoh, Kurz Weber of Full Metal Panic!, Vampire Knight's Zero Kiryu, Shippuden-era Obito Uchiha, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure villain Rohan Kishibe, RWBY's Qrow Branwen, and E-123 Omega from the Sonic games. Beyond voice work, he has released several albums as a musician and stepped in front of the camera as Captain Kirk in the fan series Star Trek Continues.
In early 2019, amid #MeToo-era allegations of sexual harassment from fans and fellow performers, Mignogna was let go by Funimation and Rooster Teeth. He has denied the accusations and pursued defamation claims against his accusers and Funimation, though those suits did not succeed. His convention appearances grew less frequent afterward, but he has remained active in the industry.
