Among the four core members of Brave Force, Yoshikichi keeps to his role behind the drum kit. Notably, although the band's playing carries enough force to stir the land of the dead, he himself holds no spiritual awareness and remains oblivious to that side of their work.

During the Evil Eye Arc, Seiko hires the crew to exorcise the Evil Eye lodged inside Jiji. After a mix-up over their unusual appearance nearly gets them turned away, the band launches into a thunderous set that has everyone moving, until Jiji, sympathizing with the spirit, begs them to stop and Seiko calls it off. In the Onbusuman Arc they return to pry the Onbusuman off Rin Sawaki's back, with Yoshikichi drumming on the lower platform of a float while the others perform up top. Their music raises a protective barrier against the spirits of Kami High, and after Toshiro is knocked out by flung concrete and Rin steps in as vocalist, the group ends the operation with a massive blast that wipes out the pursuing spirits. Afterward, during the Danmara Arc, the band and the Float Pullers gather with the others at the Kumamori Shrine to share a meal. His character takes after Yoshiki, the drummer behind the band X Japan.
