Chi-Chi's Mother is the wife of the Ox-King and the queen of Pleasant Mountain. She is only seen once in the entire series, depicted in a painting shown during the anime.
Chi-Chi's Mother is one of the most obscure characters in the Dragon Ball universe. She is the wife of the Ox-King and the mother of Chi-Chi, making her the maternal grandmother of Gohan and Goten. Despite her important position within the Son family tree, she never appears in person.
Her sole visual appearance is in a painting shown during the anime episode "Dress in Flames." The painting depicts her sitting in the Ox-King's hand while holding a newborn Chi-Chi. Her face is partially obscured by decorations in the frame. She wears a turquoise cheongsam with purple pants and pink footwear, a style that Chi-Chi later adopts.
She passed away around Age 737, when Chi-Chi was still very young. The circumstances of her death are never elaborated upon in the series. Her existence is occasionally referenced in dialogue, confirming that the Ox-King was married and that Chi-Chi had a mother who died before the events of the original Dragon Ball story.
