Biography and Story Role

Drum is the last Mutated Namekian created by King Piccolo following his release from the Electric Rice Cooker. He is born on May 9, Age 753, specifically to combat Tien Shinhan, who had arrived at the King's Castle to challenge King Piccolo. Among all of King Piccolo's spawned sons, Drum is considered the most powerful.

Drum's appearance is distinctly frog-like, with a squat, powerful build that contrasts with the more slender forms of Tambourine and Cymbal. When Tien arrives to confront King Piccolo and attempt the Evil Containment Wave, Drum intercepts him. The massive Namekian beats Tien brutally, outclassing the human warrior in every physical category and leaving him battered on the ground.

However, Drum's dominance is extremely short-lived. When Goku arrives after drinking the Ultra Divine Water and gaining immense power, he dispatches Drum with a single devastating kick that sends the creature flying. Drum is killed instantly, demonstrating the enormous gap between Goku's newfound strength and King Piccolo's most powerful offspring. He dies on the same day he was born.
