Biography and Story Role

The being known as Good Buu was originally part of the singular Majin Buu, an ancient magical creature created by the wizard Bibidi millions of years before the events of Dragon Ball Z. After being released from his sealed ball by Babidi, Buu rampaged across Earth, destroying cities and killing millions with gleeful abandon. Everything changed when he encountered Mr. Satan, who initially planned to destroy Buu but instead befriended him.

Through Mr. Satan's influence, Buu began to understand concepts like friendship, kindness, and the wrongness of killing. When a deranged gunman shot Mr. Satan and his puppy Bee, Buu's rage caused his evil side to literally steam out of his body and take physical form as Evil Buu. The two Buus fought, and Evil Buu absorbed Good Buu to become Super Buu, a far more intelligent and dangerous entity.

Good Buu was eventually freed when Goku and Vegeta entered Super Buu's body and tore out the absorbed fighters. After Kid Buu was destroyed by Goku's Spirit Bomb, Good Buu remained as the only surviving incarnation of the Majin. He settled into life on Earth, living with Mr. Satan and becoming a surprisingly popular figure.

In Dragon Ball Super, Good Buu was selected for the Tournament of Power but fell asleep before the event and was replaced by Frieza. He later played a role in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga in the manga, where it was revealed that he contained the dormant power of the Grand Supreme Kai, who had been absorbed by Buu eons ago.

Abilities and Nature

Good Buu retains much of the original Majin Buu's incredible power. His rubbery body can absorb physical blows, stretch and reshape at will, and regenerate from almost any injury. He can turn people into candy or other objects with his Transfiguration Beam, heal injuries with his magical touch, and fire devastating energy attacks. His stamina is virtually limitless, as his magical nature means he does not tire the way biological fighters do.

Despite his power, Good Buu is significantly weaker than his evil counterparts. The expulsion of his evil side removed a large portion of his overall strength, leaving him as the "weakest" version of Buu. Even so, he remains one of the strongest beings on Earth and a valuable ally in crisis situations.

Good Buu's personality is that of a large, easily amused child. He loves food, games, and spending time with Mr. Satan. He does not fully understand complex social situations and can become dangerously angry when his friends are threatened, though he has learned to control his temper over time. His transformation from villain to friend is one of Dragon Ball's most heartwarming story threads.
