The Universe 6 Tournament

Hit is introduced during the Tournament of Destroyers, a competition between Universes 6 and 7 organized by the twin Gods of Destruction, Champa and Beerus. Selected by Vados as Universe 6's strongest fighter, Hit enters the ring with a calm, professional demeanor that contrasts sharply with the boisterous personalities of the other competitors. He dispatches Vegeta with minimal effort, using his signature Time-Skip technique to bypass the Saiyan prince's defenses entirely.

His battle against Goku becomes the centerpiece of the tournament. Goku deduces that Hit can freeze time for a fraction of a second and skip forward, effectively making him invisible during his attacks. To counter this, Goku employs the Kaio-ken technique in combination with Super Saiyan Blue, pushing his body to dangerous limits. The fight forces Hit to improve in real time, extending the duration of his Time-Skip as the battle intensifies. Their mutual growth during combat establishes a begrudging respect between the two fighters.

Hit ultimately forfeits the match after Goku requests the tournament rules be relaxed, reasoning that he cannot use his full assassination techniques under tournament restrictions. This decision reveals a fighter who values the integrity of a fair contest over blind victory.

Time-Skip and the Tournament of Power

Hit's signature technique, Time-Skip, allows him to freeze time for everyone except himself. During this brief window, he can move freely, reposition, and strike without any possibility of being countered. The duration of the skip starts at a tenth of a second but can be extended through intense concentration or during moments of high stakes combat. In the anime, Hit also develops the ability to store skipped time and create a pocket dimension, techniques he uses during his assassination mission arc against Goku.

In the Tournament of Power, Hit serves as the de facto captain of Team Universe 6. He targets Jiren, the strongest fighter from Universe 11, using a refined version of his Time-Skip in combination with a time-freeze cage technique. Despite his ingenuity, Jiren's raw power proves too overwhelming, and Hit is eliminated after pushing the Pride Trooper to reveal a fraction of his true strength. His willingness to sacrifice himself against an unbeatable opponent to buy time for his teammates reveals a selfless side beneath his professional exterior.

As a character, Hit represents a different kind of Dragon Ball rival. He is not driven by Saiyan pride or personal grudges; he is a professional who respects skill and discipline. His calm, measured approach to combat makes him a foil to the emotionally driven fighting styles of Goku and Vegeta, and his departure from the series leaves the door open for future encounters.
