The Saiyans force Dr. Myuu to reveal Baby, his ultimate creation. Trunks sabotages Baby's life support, but the parasite proves far too powerful to be contained. After seemingly destroying Baby, the creature secretly survives by hiding inside Dr. Myuu before killing him.
Episode 22 picks up with Goku, Pan, and Trunks forcing Dr. Myuu into his secret chamber. There, they discover Baby, the scientist's ultimate robotic creation. Trunks learned of Baby's existence through intelligence gathered by Giru, who had been secretly gathering information during their time on M-2. As Dr. Myuu weeps over what appears to be Baby dying, the surrounding water begins to violently erupt.
Trunks reveals that he reprogrammed Baby's life support system and rerouted it into the plumbing, effectively cutting off the creature's power supply. He also exposes Dr. Myuu's grand ambition: total galactic domination. Baby was to be the instrument of that conquest, with General Rilldo and the other machine warriors serving merely as stepping stones toward Baby's completion.
Dr. Myuu desperately tries to override the sabotage and save Baby, pleading with his creation to draw upon the strength of every species that contributed to its design. For a moment, it seems as though Baby has expired. Goku even expresses mild disappointment at not getting to test himself against such a foe.
That disappointment vanishes instantly when Baby's eyes snap open. Drawing on energy stored deep within its circuits, Baby powers up to its true form and explodes from the capsule. The shockwave slams the three Saiyans against the wall and damages Dr. Myuu's own circuits, causing the scientist to collapse.
Goku senses that Baby is terrifyingly powerful for a being that has not even reached full development. Baby scans the three Saiyans and lunges for Goku first, but Goku coordinates a triple assault with Pan and Trunks that appears to obliterate the creature entirely. Dr. Myuu weeps over his creation's apparent death.
As the lab crumbles, a spacecraft evacuates Dr. Myuu, but a tiny substance slips unnoticed into the scientist's leg. The Saiyans let him go, believing Baby is finished. Only after reaching space does the truth surface: Baby bursts from Dr. Myuu's back and reveals that he, not Dr. Myuu, was the true mastermind all along. With his creator eliminated, Baby sets his sights on the Saiyans.
