Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta goes on a rampage, pretending to lose control before revealing it was all a sadistic act. Super Saiyan 4 Goku protects the Tuffle civilians and blocks a Super Galick Gun aimed at Earth. Goku's 10x Kamehameha fails to scratch Baby, who retaliates with a direct hit.
Episode 36 plunges Planet Plant into chaos as Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta appears to lose all self-control, just as Goku did in his own Great Ape form. The massive beast rampages through the landscape, threatening Tuffle civilians and Z Fighters alike. Super Saiyan 4 Goku works overtime to prevent casualties, pulling people from the path of destruction.
Then Baby reveals the horrifying truth: he was never out of control. The entire rampage was a performance designed to slaughter his own brainwashed followers for entertainment. Baby even targets Chi-Chi and Videl directly. Goku proves far too fast, whisking the unconscious women to safety with Mr. Satan before the ape's fist can connect.
Frustrated by Goku's speed, Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta shifts tactics and takes aim at a much larger target: the Earth itself. He fires a Super Galick Gun directly at the planet. Goku intercepts with a Kamehameha, but the attack is too powerful and slips past his defense. On Earth, Krillin, Android 18, and Marron feel the shockwave as they prepare to board a transport ship to Planet Plant.
On the Sacred World of the Kai, Old Kai warns that Baby has gone completely insane. Though Baby sounds rational, his Super Galick Gun would have destroyed both Earth and Planet Plant if it connected fully, killing his own followers along with everyone else.
Goku decides it is time to end the fight and concentrates his energy into a 10x Kamehameha, one of Super Saiyan 4's signature techniques. The beam slams into Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta with tremendous force, seemingly engulfing him entirely. When the smoke clears, however, Baby stands unscathed, without so much as a scratch.
Baby answers with another Super Galick Gun aimed squarely at Goku. This time, Goku takes the hit deliberately, absorbing the blast to ensure it does not reach Earth. The impact leaves both fighters battered. The episode ends with Trunks, Gohan, Goten, Goku, and many others lying unconscious across the battlefield, the outcome still very much in doubt.
