Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Goku absorbs Baby's ultimate Revenge Death Ball Final and channels its energy into a devastating 10x Kamehameha. He removes Baby's tail to force the parasite out of Vegeta, then blasts Baby into the sun. The Sacred Water frees Earth's population, but the Black Star Dragon Balls have restarted the planet's destruction countdown.
Episode 39 brings the climax of the Baby Saga. Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Goku and Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta trade blows across Planet Plant, with Goku declaring that his power is merely "the tip of the iceberg." Baby refuses to accept inferiority and fires his Super Galick Gun, but Goku evades with Instant Transmission. A flurry of energy waves follows, each one deflected by the sheer force of Goku's aura, causing magma to erupt across the planet's surface.
Cornered, Baby resorts to his ultimate technique: the Revenge Death Ball Final. He launches the massive sphere without regard for Planet Plant's survival. Goku struggles to hold it back and is dragged into its core. Baby celebrates, certain of victory, but Goku draws on his love for friends and family to absorb the entire attack into his own body.
Supercharged by the absorbed energy, Goku unleashes a 10x Kamehameha that slams Baby Vegeta into the ground and knocks him unconscious. The Z Fighters breathe a sigh of relief, but Gohan raises a crucial point: killing Baby while he resides inside Vegeta would also kill the prince. Trunks accepts that his father would rather die than remain a puppet.
Goku finds a more elegant solution. He fires a precision blast that incinerates only Baby's tail, forcing the parasite into his adult form, which Vegeta's shrinking body can no longer contain. Baby ejects from Vegeta's back, uses an Eye Flash to blind the group, and flees. Goku prioritizes Vegeta's safety, and the freed prince exchanges a quiet smile with his rival as consciousness returns.
Baby reaches Bulma and her escape ship, shoves the scientist aside, and blasts into space alone, vowing revenge. Goku assures Pan he will not let the parasite escape. As Baby's ship aligns with the sun, Goku fires one final 10x Kamehameha across the void. The beam strikes the vessel and sends Baby hurtling into the star. The intense heat overwhelms the Tuffle's regeneration, and Baby is destroyed permanently.
Using Instant Transmission, Goku returns everyone to Earth. With Kibito Kai's help, they spread the Sacred Water across the planet, freeing every last person from Baby's mind control. The victory, however, comes with a grim discovery. Baby Vegeta's wish on the Black Star Dragon Balls reset the one-year countdown. Pan calculates that the Earth has only two weeks before it explodes.
