Old Buu Emerges

EpisodeEp. 282

With Vegeta nearly dead at Kid Buu's hands, an unlikely hero steps forward. Mr. Satan charges into battle, and something extraordinary happens: Kid Buu cannot bring himself to finish him. The reason lies within Buu himself, as the good Majin Buu trapped inside intervenes, eventually breaking free and joining the fight.

The World Champion Steps Up

Kid Buu continues choking Vegeta, smashing him through rocks and beating him mercilessly. From their distant vantage point, Kibito Kai and Dende consider rushing in to help, but Old Kai warns them that their interference would only give Goku another person to protect. The situation looks hopeless as Vegeta reverts to his base form, completely spent.

Then Mr. Satan appears, convinced he is still trapped in an elaborate dream. With absurd confidence, he challenges Kid Buu to a fight. Goku watches in horror and disbelief as the world champion stumbles into a confrontation with the most dangerous being in the universe.

A Guardian Within

Kid Buu turns his attention to Mr. Satan, abandoning Vegeta on the ground. He launches attacks at the terrified showman, but something strange happens: every lethal strike narrowly misses. Mr. Satan dodges with reflexes he did not know he possessed. The truth is that the fat Majin Buu, still trapped within Kid Buu's body, is secretly protecting his best friend from the inside.

Goku cannot understand why Kid Buu seems incapable of finishing off such a weak opponent. The answer comes when Kid Buu suddenly convulses, expelling the good Majin Buu from his body entirely. The pink blob reforms into the familiar rotund figure, freed at last from his imprisonment.

Two Buus, Zero Options

Now purged of all kindness, Kid Buu moves to kill Mr. Satan without hesitation. Good Buu intercepts, throwing himself between his friend and the destroyer. The two Buus clash on the Sacred World of the Kai, pink against pink, while Vegeta urges Goku to use this distraction to power up.

Goku attempts to gather his energy, but the result is devastating. Instead of building power, he loses it, reverting all the way to his base form. The Super Saiyan 3 transformation, it turns out, drains far more energy in a living body than Goku ever realized. With their strongest weapon neutralized and Good Buu outmatched, the heroes find themselves in their most dire position yet.
