The Charging Form, also known as Transforming Ability, refers to the capacity certain alien warriors possess to physically restructure their bodies into more powerful combat configurations. The most famous example is Zarbon, who concealed a hulking reptilian form beneath his handsome exterior. Unlike the Frieza Race's power-suppressing forms, these transformations generally unlock hidden reserves of strength at the cost of a more bestial or monstrous appearance.
Zarbon was the most notable user of this transformation type during the Namek Saga. As one of Frieza's elite officers, Zarbon prided himself on his elegant appearance and was deeply reluctant to reveal his true combat form. When Vegeta proved too powerful for Zarbon's base state to handle, Dodoria had already been killed, and Zarbon had no choice but to transform. His body swelled into a hulking, reptilian creature with rough greenish skin, dramatically increasing his power and allowing him to overwhelm Vegeta in their first encounter.
The ability to physically restructure one's body for combat is not unique to Zarbon. Vegeta explained during the Namek Saga that certain alien species throughout the universe can alter their shapes in unexpected ways. Cooler's Fourth Transformation is a related but distinct concept, as it represents an evolution beyond the standard Frieza Race forms rather than a simple charging power-up. During the Tournament of Power, Ganos from Universe 4 demonstrated a similar bestial transformation, growing increasingly feral and powerful as the fight continued. The common thread among all these users is that the transformation trades physical refinement for raw combat capability.
